Mayor Brent H. Ives

Mayor Brent H. Ives has been a City Council member since 1991. He served on the Parks and Recreation Commission for four years prior to serving one year on the Planning Commission.
Brent is a member of the Downtown Revitalization Task Force, the Economic Development Advisory Group, the South County Fire Authority, the San Joaquin Partnership for Economic Development, the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (ACE), and the Chairman of the San Joaquin Council of Governments.
Brent also leads the Mayor’s Community Youth Support Network (MCYSN) which provides broad-based assistance and solutions to youth and their parents encountering the challenges that young people and their parents face today.
He operates BHI Management Consulting in Tracy, a consulting firm that specializes in assisting small government agencies and non-profits in areas of strategic planning, governance, organizational health and supervisory excellence. He has worked for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 33 years.
Brent grew up in Tracy, attending New Jerusalem School in the Vernalis area and graduating from Tracy High School in 1971. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.
Brent and his wife Lynda (a Tracy teacher) have two daughters, who live and work as teachers in Tracy, and a son who lives in Sacramento. Brent and Lynda have five grandchildren, all in Tracy.
