Support Operations

The Support Operations Bureau has three separate units performing the day-to-day support role for the efficient and effective operation of law enforcement responsibilities in the Tracy community.

Administration

This unit oversees and manages the business and legal responsibilities for the smooth operation of the Police Department. They are comprised of:

  • Personnel and Training
  • Budget Preparation and Allocation
  • Fleet and Facilities Maintenance
  • Property and Evidence Room
  • Departmental Records
  • Long Range Planning
  • Professional Standards

Records

This unit is responsible for tracking, logging, recording, and filing all department criminal documents and records. Mandated reports are made to federal and state agencies of all Tracy criminal investigations and traffic matters. In addition, this division processes and reports all arrested persons to governing authorities. This unit handles all citizen requests for copies of crime and traffic reports.

Communications

Communications serves as the first line of contact with the citizens of our community. All emergency 911 calls are received by this 24-hour operational unit as well as non-emergency inquiries and business calls. The personnel of this division are trained to state standards and operate state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment to ensure the safety of police personnel and the citizens of our community.
