Solid Waste and Recycling
Garbage Collection Schedule
The City of Tracy has a franchise agreement with Tracy Delta Solid Waste Management, Inc. for the collection, transportation, and disposal of refuse and garbage, including the collection of recyclable material, in the City of Tracy.
Garbage is collected once a week. Recycling and yard waste are collected on alternate weeks. Tracy Disposal will pick up either your brown yard and garden cart for composting or your blue recycle cart for recycling. Again, on alternating weeks.
On recycling weeks, place your green trash cart and blue recycle cart at the curb by 4:00 am on your regular pick up day.
For the yard and garden collection week, place your green trash cart and brown yard and garden cart at the curb by 4:00 am on your regular pick up day.
Tracy Disposal usually collects the garbage and recycling or yard waste in the early morning. However, due to growth in the City or unforeseeable schedule changes, your garbage and recycling or yard waste may be collected in the late morning instead. If your garbage and recycling or yard waste is not collected on it's normal collection day, please call (209) 835-0601.
Holiday Schedule
Garbage and recycling or yard waste that is scheduled for pick-up on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day will not be picked up. Instead, it will be picked up on the following business day.

Leaf Pick Up
The Fall and Winter leaf pick-up season begins the last week of November and continues through the first week of January. Residents of Tracy are requested to place leaves that fall early in November in your yard waste toter. For those areas of Tracy with small trees, and thus a smaller quantity of leaves, we ask that these leaves be placed in your yard waste toter each week. When large quantities of leaves start falling in areas where we have large, mature trees, you can rake the leaves into piles along the street and they will be picked up by Tracy Disposal on your regular garbage collection day. At the end of the pick-up schedule, large quantities of leaves that are left over can be bagged and placed next to your yard waste toter for pick up.
